Welcome to Fargie FX – an independent creative studio where every design and piece of work is created entirely by me. Established to deliver high-quality make-up artistry for screen, stage, photography and special events. FARGIE FX represents my growing professional practice within the creative industries. My aim is to create realistic, imaginative and striking SFX/make-up designs that enhance storytelling, character development and artistic expression.

I am a passionate freelance make-up artist based in Central Scotland and willing to travel for productions and special events. I am currently studying towards my HND in TV, Film and Theatre Make-up at the City of Glasgow College, where I continue to develop advanced skills in special effects, prosthetics, character design and screen ready make-up application. My final major project focuses on a bear attack using prosthetics, allowing me to explore realistic injury simulation and detailed prosthetic work.

This course provides me with sound technical knowledge, access to industry methods, and the opportunity to learn from the best in the business – ensuring that every project I undertake meets or exceeds professional expectations.

Special effects and gore make-up have always been my main passion because I enjoy transforming creative ideas into realistic designs through texture, colour and intricate detail.

In the future, I hope to specialise further in prosthetics and creating hyper-realistic blood effects, combining creativity with technical precision to produce authentic and believable results both in person and on camera.

Alongside my studies, I have worked on student film productions for the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS), including Ephemera, and Through the Keyhole. These experiences helped me develop teamwork, continuity awareness and professional set etiquette.  I have also contributed to charity fashion shows and events, including the Malawi 60thAnniversary Fashion Show, Strictly Charity Event, Clique Fancy Pants Fashion Show, The Purple Charity Ball in aid of Kidney Research, and the Glasgow School of Art Fashion Show, helping me build confidence within fast-paced creative environments.
